Panchakarma Ayurvedic detox and rejuvenation programs

panchakarma brisbane

Practised for thousands of years in India, Panchakarma is a highly refined Ayurvedic method for cleansing and rejuvenation.

What is Panchakarma?

Panchakarma is a structured program used in Ayurveda for long-standing or recurring health issues. Our Panchakarma programs involve a planned sequence of daily Ayurvedic therapies supported by herbs, diet and routine adjustments.

The specialty of Panchakarma is that you don’t rush in and out of a detox. Ayurveda emphasises careful preparation, structured sequencing, and proper post-care as essential. Panchakarma is carried out in three clear stages, guiding the process in a methodical way.

3 stages of Panchakarma

  • Preparation (Purva karma)
  • Elimination (Pradhan karma)
  • Rejuvenation (Paschat karma)

Stages of Panchakarma

The program begins with an initial consultation. This includes an in-depth health review with Master Biju Nair or one of our Ayurvedic doctors. The program is then planned according to your current condition and individual requirements.

Stage 1
Stage 1

Preparatory home-based program

The seven-day preparatory phase includes Ayurvedic herbs, specific dietary changes (Pathya Aahar) and adjustments to daily routines. These steps prepare the body and mind for the next stage so that the in-clinic therapies can work more effectively.

Stage 2
Stage 2

Daily in-clinic therapies

In this stage, you attend the clinic for a sequence of Ayurvedic therapies. The therapies selected depend on the individual and may include Ayurvedic massage, Kalari Marma massage, Udvartanam, Njavara Kizhi, Shirodhara, Kashaya Dhara, Pizhichil, herbal steam therapy and others.

Throughout this stage, you continue Ayurvedic herbs, diet and routine adjustments. Traditional cleansing methods such as Virechana (purgation), Basti (herbal enema), and Nasyam (nasal cleansing) may also be included, depending on your condition.

Stage 3
Stage 3

Post-treatment home-based program

The post-program stage is designed to support the system after cleansing. This rejuvenation stage (Rasayana) supports and enhances the effects of the previous two stages. You will follow a post-detox diet (Samsarjan Karma) with rejuvenating herbs and daily routine changes. This assists the body to gradually return to a stable state and support the results of the process.
