Panchakarma Ayurvedic detox and rejuvenation programs
Panchakarma is the key clinical practice of Ayurveda for detoxification and rejuvenation.
Practiced for thousands of years in India, it is a highly refined approach for the treatment and prevention of disease.
Working at a deeper level, Panchakarma is best for long-standing and chronic conditions. But it can also be used for disease prevention and to promote longevity.
Our Panchakarma programs involve daily Ayurvedic treatments, supported by Ayurvedic herbs, diet and daily routine changes to cleanse and renew your body and mind.
The Panchakarma process
The specialty of Panchakarma is that you don’t rush in and out of a detox. Correct preparation and post-care are essential.
Panchakarma involves three stages that methodically lead the body through a variety of treatments.
3 stages of Panchakarma
- Preparation (Purva karma)
- Elimination (Pradhan karma)
- Rejuvenation (Paschat karma)
Stages of Panchakarma
Your program will begin with an initial consultation. This involves an in-depth health assessment with Master Biju Nair or Dr Leny Prabhath. We will then plan the program with you to suit your current condition and specific health needs.
Preparatory home-based program
The seven-day preparatory phase involves taking ayurvedic herbs, specific diet changes (Pathya Aahar), and adjusting the daily routine.
These preparatory steps are needed to ensure the body and mind are prepared for the process of detoxification. This is essential to maximize results from the daily treatments in the next stage.
Daily in-clinic body treatments
At this stage, you attend the clinic for ayurvedic treatments. In addition to treating specific physical complaints, the treatments also have a powerful detoxifying effect.
The types of treatments will be chosen depending on your condition. They can include Ayurvedic massage, Kalari Marma massage, Udvartana (powder/paste massage), Navara kizhi, Shirodhara, Kashya dhara, Pizhichil, herbal steam therapy and more.
You will continue the ayurvedic herbs, diet and daily routine changes to support the daily treatments.
Once your body is ready, detoxification is enhanced through purgation (virechan), herbal enemas (basti) and/or nasal cleansing (nasya) based on your condition.
Post-treatment home-based program
Panchakarma doesn’t just leave a clean system, it nurtures it back to full strength.
This rejuvenation stage (Rasayana) supports and enhances the effects of the previous two stages of treatment.
You will follow a post-detox diet (Samsarjan karma) with rejuvenating herbs and daily routine changes.
This assists the body to gradually return to its normal state and maintain the benefits achieved through treatments.
We do Panchakarma for:
- Pain management
- Musculoskeletal conditions
- Digestion issues
- Stress
- Weight management
